Main Building Interests: Old street rods and Racing models, and all forms of 1-1 racing

My Father got me started building models when I was five years old. I helped him build a P-39 Air Cobra. In the early fifties, before plastic model car kits came out I built military models and along with some fellow neighborhood model builders we would create battle scenes using firecrackers and lighter fluid.  In 1959 I went to Philly Custom Car Show where there was a dealer selling proms and model car kits. I found JoHan model car kits and that was the end of Military modeling. I remember cutting lawns in the summer time to get money to buy model kits. I built models until I went into the Army. When I got out I got married, I did some modeling in the early 70's and started using an air brush. In 1974 my son was born and in 1980 my daughter came along. My focus was on raising the family and little league sports and dancing school. and not moIn 1983 I started to go to model flea markets and collected some models during this time. I found out about this little model contest in Parsippany N.J.  My buddy tried to talk me into building a model for the show but it took five years until I joined PACM for me to build a model for the contest. I started building again. I am glad that have found PACM. Since I joined the club I have made a lot of friends in the hobby. The club has become a family to me from the friendships that have developed. We all have a common interest in having a good time. I also like going on road trips to show and model meetings and modeling nights at Greg Hogg, I do not know how he puts up with us.
