MODEL BUILDING HISTORY:

Like everyone else I started building when I was a kid in the early sixties. At one time I had about 30 glue bombs in my collection but when I got older we did the demolition derby thing. I managed to hold onto a 63 Buick Electra, 74 Pinto, and 70 LTD but everything else is gone.

In 1986, when I was living in Reading , I went to Zerns Farmers Market inGilbertsville with a friend and one of the booths was a hobby shop. They had a bunch of old Johan’s so I bought a 68 Chrysler and from then on I was hooked. I started subscribing to Scale Auto in 1988 and still have most of them bound together. At the same time I also started collecting unbuilt kits. At the time there Ted Maurer used to do model kit and promo auctions Chester County so I got several original mint condition kits at those. I also bought a lot from Hobby Heaven and later from E-bay. I went to my first NNL East in 1993 and became addicted to that as well.

I am still trying to improve my skills but don’t expect to ever be an NNL East winner.

The best thing I ever did was join this club where I met and made a lot of good friends which now feels like family.
